Week 8
Wild animal introductions

I really enjoy teaching Science, and love learning even more.  This I like to share with others, so occasionally I invite other science experts to visit with us. The biggest fun happens when we have animal specialists visit.

Check out the awesome pictures.

Week 7

Electricity can be mysterious to young students, so I like to play around with it and teach the how to use it safely.

Static electricity, electrical circuits, and electromagnetism are easy and fun to do in class without a lot of fuss and a minimal amount of equipment.

In my static electricity lesson, my school was nice enough to purchase a Vann Der Graph generator kit that my class put together before we could use it. Usually you can get by with a piece of real animal fur and a steel rod, or simply with some balloons and Styrofoam peanuts.

This week we become Paleontologists and go digging for Dinosaurs.

My class learned about fossils and how they end up in museums.  They completed a dig, sorted and classified the bones into where they go on the body, and organize and assemble the bones for display.
