Week 7

Electricity can be mysterious to young students, so I like to play around with it and teach the how to use it safely.

Static electricity, electrical circuits, and electromagnetism are easy and fun to do in class without a lot of fuss and a minimal amount of equipment.

In my static electricity lesson, my school was nice enough to purchase a Vann Der Graph generator kit that my class put together before we could use it. Usually you can get by with a piece of real animal fur and a steel rod, or simply with some balloons and Styrofoam peanuts.

  2. John, I love your Science ideas. I wish that more Science teachers took the time to be creative with the lessons so that the students were engaged. It saddens me when I hear students say they don't like Science. As for the faces in the pictures below I see the exact opposite :)
